On December 6, Huawei confirmed that Meng Wanzhou was detained in Canada.

Huawei said in a statement: Recently, when CFO Ms. Meng Wangzhou was transferred to Canada, she was temporarily detained by the Canadian authorities on behalf of the United States Government. The United States is seeking the extradition of Ms. Meng Wangzhou and is facing unspecified charges in the East District of New York.
